I have been an artist for as long as I can remember.
Actually I believe that we are all born artists.
Creative souls.
As I grew, I would here labels being thrown around: Realism. Abstract, Modern, Impressionist. Each title or labels meant to let you know what kind of art this painting or drawing would fall under.
You can then make a judgement about it.
This is where I have a problem friends: I do not think that Art can be judged.
It is; simply.
It either sings to your soul or not. Move on, no judgement.
I have been asked MANY times in interviews and by art lovers, "What is your style?"
My answers through the years: "Whimsical?", "Fun?" "Childlike?"
Well friends today it came to me. I am an intuitive, soulful, happy artist. I create with my whole soul self. it wasn't always this way, I would try to 'fit' somewhere. Fortunately that was short lived and I let me higher self take over:)
And you know what? Everyone is actually an intuitive artist.Because you were born with a gene, a need, a right to express you!
I feel better to now have an answer when the next person asks; "So what type of art do you do?"
My answer will be: "I create with my whole soul self!"

Quick Cannoli Dip!
Hi friends,
I just had to share this quick fun cannoli dip that Mr. M and I made up the other day.
You will need:
Ricotta cheese;
mini chocolate chips;
vanilla;
sugar;
Teddy grahams or graham crackers.
Take a dollop (1/2 of a cup) ricotta cheese and mix in a bit (about two teaspoons) of sugar and a splash of vanilla.
Mix this together.
Then add in a handful of mini chocolate chips.
Scoop onto the middle of a plate, and surround with Teddy Grahams (or graham cracker squares:)
It is a cannoli dip! Super fun and yummy!
Yum!

What's for Dinner?
Dear Friends,
What's for dinner?
How many times have you heard this question in your home...whether from your family or in your own head?
Well I have an answer, or rather I have found one. A terrific site called "Plan to Eat".
They have a wonderful program that allows you to plan your meals for the week and helps you create a grocery list for your meal plan! No last minute trips to the market for a forgotten item:)
And when you are asked "What's for dinner?" you'll have a ready answer! Check out Plan to Eat HERE!
How many of you already plan your week's worth of meals? Do you shop all at once or make several trips to the market through the week?

Some things happen for a reason...the rest I am trying to understand.
I am sitting here this morning drinking a cup of tea. I just hung up the phone with my youngest sister.
I then posted this painting on facebook with the caption: Evil is only defeated by Love.
The posting of the painting is really a way of convincing me that the statement is true. Right now I am having a hard time feeling that. I am Sicilian, and as my father often puts it, are nature is to think "Vendeda".
I cannot wrap my mind around yesterday's events in Boston. I want to understand it, I want to be this peaceful person whom 'only feels love and forgiveness for those who would do this'. I don't. I want them to pay. I want to smack them. I want to kick them. I want them to hurt.
I know this is not a spiritual way to think and feel. But it is honest.
Until I am able to understand and accept this awfulness, I will cling to the feeling of gratitude that my youngest sister, the one I spoke to this morning, wasn't at that race. She was scheduled to be.
She and husband run all types of races and marathons all over the country. They were registered to run a smaller race the day before and had a hotel booked in Boston and had plans to stay to cheer on some friends at the finish line. At the last minute my sister hurt her ankle and couldn't go. I can find some sense in the knowing that some things do happen for a reason. Thank you Universe.
I will spend my life trying to understand the rest. My heart to Boston.
